Interactive Knee Surgery Edition, Version 2.0 presents the most complete and accurate 3-D anatomical model of its kind. Users can rotate the 3-D model of the knee, peel away the layers and label any visible feature. This 3-D model derived from high quality MRI scans is also used as a basis for scores of 3-D animations showing key surgical procedures. A broad selection of radiological, biomechanical and pathological material accompanies the 3-D presentation.
The surgery section provides 3-D computer graphic models of surgical instruments as well as 3-D animations showing typical implant procedures. Surgical procedures are explored including ACL and PCL ligament reconstruction, meniscus tears and their repair, osteochondritis dissecans, patellar tendinitis, fractures around the knee, Osgood Schlatters disease, osteoarthritis, and much more.
The radiology section, edited by David W. Stoller, provides a method of viewing the 3-D model of the knee in three planes and correlating the anatomy with the equivalent MRI data. The radiology text also links to a range of pathology slides.
